Privacy policy

The Prepared Teacher sells digital planning resources for K–12 teachers. This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, and what we do — and never do — with it. Plain language, no legal maze.

What we collect

  • Order information. When you buy something: your name, email address, billing address, and payment details. Payments are processed securely by Shopify's payment providers — we never see or store your full card number.
  • Your email address. Every product is a digital download delivered by email, so your email is how your purchase reaches you. We also use it for your receipt and for support conversations.
  • Marketing signup. If you join our list (for the free pack or otherwise), we store the email you gave us and, if you shared it, your first name.
  • Basic site data. Like nearly every online store, our platform (Shopify) collects device and usage data — IP address, browser type, pages viewed — using cookies and similar technologies, to keep the store working, measure what's useful, and prevent fraud.

How we use it

  • To deliver your purchases, send receipts, and answer support emails.
  • To send marketing email only if you opted in. Every email has a working unsubscribe link, it takes one click, and nobody guilt-trips you.
  • To understand what's working in the store (in aggregate) and improve it.
  • To prevent fraud and to comply with the law when we're legitimately required to.

What we never do

  • We do not sell your personal information. Not to data brokers, not to "marketing partners," not to anyone.
  • We don't send marketing email without your consent, and we never manufacture fake urgency to get you to open one.
  • We don't collect more than we need to run a small, honest shop.

Who we share it with

A short list of service providers, each only to do their job: Shopify (store hosting, checkout, and payment processing — see the Shopify Privacy Policy), our digital-delivery app (to send your download links), and our email service (to send the emails described above). If the law genuinely requires us to disclose information, we comply.

Cookies

The store uses cookies for the cart, checkout, security, and basic analytics. You can control cookies in your browser settings; the cart and checkout need them to function. To opt out of data sharing for targeted advertising, visit our Your Privacy Choices page.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to show you the personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. Email anthony@arawni.com and we'll handle it — we extend these rights to everyone, wherever you live, including rights under GDPR and US state privacy laws where they apply. You can also exercise rights over data Shopify processes at the Shopify Privacy Portal.

Children

Our store is for adults (teachers and school staff). We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. Our products are used by teachers with students — the products themselves tell you never to paste student-identifying information into any AI tool, and we stand by that rule here too.

Retention and security

We keep order records as long as we need them for accounting, support, and legal obligations, and marketing emails until you unsubscribe. No system is perfectly secure, but we keep our list of tools short and reputable, which is the best security policy a small shop can have.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update it here with a new date. We won't quietly weaken it.
